Sedlescombe

CLOCKS: Hope you all had the opportunity to meet up with friends and family over Easter and perhaps went along to the services and see the Easter lilies at the Parish church. I hope you remembered to move your clocks forward at the correct time too so that now we can start to enjoy the lighter evenings again. Spring has most definitely sprung!

COURTYARD SALE: Make a date. There will be a courtyard sale at the parish rectory , Church Hill on Saturday April 16 at 10.30am . More details to follow.

LANDSCAPE WALK: This sounds very interesting if you are looking to learn more about the area in which we live. Following the success the last two years, Peter Miles will be repeating his Weald landscape walk on Sunday April 24, May 1 and May 8. The walk is based in Mountfield but is concerned with clues to why our local Wealden landscape looks as it does so it is directly relevant to the woods and fields of Sedlescombe. The walk covers old tracks and roads, woodland archaeology, medieval earthworks, quarries and minepits, woodland flowers including one rare plant, woodland crafts (and a rare tree), foraging and more. Duration about three hours, distance two miles, easy walking, entirely on private land which is not normally accessible, purpose serious but emphasis on fun. For more details or to book, contact Peter on 01580 880614 or [email protected].
