Section of Lindfield High Street closed for three months - but business open as usual

Work to install a new water main beneath the carriageway through Lindfield starts today.

For three months, Buxshalls Hill / High Street (B2028) in Lindfield from its junction with Park Lane, southwards to the All Saints Church House will be closed.

Alternative routes for vehicles will be clearly marked, states West Sussex County Council.

Queries regarding the closure should be directed to the local authority by calling 01243 642 105.

The business community of Lindfield is keen to stress that only a section of the High Street will be closed, and shops remain open as usual.

The Road Closure Order is expected to be in force until April 21, 2014.

Meanwhile, one of the two main link roads between Haywards Heath and Burgess Hill will remain closed for a further five weeks.

Vehicles now have to negotiate long diversions to avoid Rocky Lane after barriers went up last Monday.

The closure, which is causing congestion on other roads around the area, is to enable the continuing works on the fifth stage of the Haywards Heath Relief Road.
