Schools join together in forming partnership

THREE primary schools in St Leonards have come together to form a partnership.

Robsack Wood, Churchwood and Hollingtonh have set up the Hollington Strategic Alliance (HSA).

Natalie Upton, from Churchwood School, said: “In celebration of our first year together we have held many joint achievement events including our most recent HSA Multi-Sports Event when all three schools competed against each other in a variety of athletic challenges. Our staff have also worked closely together to raise pupil achievement, attendance and progress.

“The three HSA schools achieved higher than the national average in the 2012 SATs tests. The percentage of pupils who achieved national expectations and above national expectations in reading, writing and mathematics was the highest it has ever been for all three schools and we celebrate our achievement as a collective.

“We have also recruited parent support advisors and our own speech and language therapist who work across the HSA schools. This expertise enables us to provide high quality in-house support for our pupils and their families.”

In addition, for all prospective parents for the academic year 2013/2014 open days will take place at Hollington Primary School and Nursery on November 28, Robsack Wood Community Primary School and Nursery on November 21 and 22, and Churchwood Community Primary School and Nursery on November 15. All three schools are taking appointments from 9.30am.
