Rotary Club of Hastings

LAST Friday was a Club Business Meeting followed by a quiz.

The club is gearing up for its annual Christmas Store collections, and distribution to local needy people. This was overshadowed by the Philippine disaster and arrangements were made to collect at Asda.

This is on top of the Shelter Boxes and Aqua Boxes that the club has also recently contributed to. Particularly gratifying was the presentation of a cheque to Prader Willi Syndrome Society a cause that one member has a specific interest in and the club supports.

Rotarians continue with their travels where they are welcomed at local Rotary clubs and greetings were brought from India, Belgium and Milton Keynes.

Rotarian Bryan Gibbon’s twenty question quiz started with some very puzzled faces but soon got going with some enthusiastic oohs and aahs. Rotarian Peter Armstrong with 16 points was triumphant wining the coveted bottle of wine.

This turned into a family affair when wife and fellow Rotarian Jackie won the Jack Pot Draw. Fun, fellowship and doing good in the community at home and abroad is what Rotary is about and this meeting had all the ingredients.
