FOOTBALL: The Bridge 2nd team gave their worst performance of the season away to Macron East Sussex Football League Division 5 basement team Sedlescombe Rangers III. Rangers took the lead after just 8 minutes when The Bridge defence failed to clear but 3 minutes before the break a free kick 20 yards out saw Justin Hardy’ low cross find defender Shaun Colvin who smashed the ball home from 10 yards. The second period was the worst I’ve seen them play all season and the hosts got their winner on 71 minutes with a header that Bridge keeper Nick Townsend misjudged to allow Rangers to take all three points. Tomorrow the 2nd team are at home to Westfield III K.O. 3p.m.
