River on flood alert
A flood alert has been issued for the River Rother.
The Environment Agency (EA) put the river on alert just before 11pm on Sunday (October 27), ahead of the anticipated storm and hurricane-strength winds which are expected to reach their peak at around 5am on Monday morning.
According to the EA the River Rother and the tributaries from Turks Bridge to the Royal Military Canal, including; Crowhurst Bridge, Etchingham, Robertsbridge, Salehurst and Bodiam are all considered at risk of possible flooding
