Riot of floral colours

A riot of spectacular floral displays greeted visitors to Bognor Regis and District Horticultural Society's autumn show.

They could also enjoy scrumptious home produce including freshly picked vegetables, mouthwatering cakes, savoury flans and pots of jams and chutneys at the Jubilee Hall in North Bersted.

The artistic abilities of members and their families were apparent as well in the very talented entries in the arts and crafts and children's sections.

All these elements ensured the show was an enjoyable and successful occasion.

There was a very generously laden tombola table with gifts as varied as a large box of grass seed to the latest Harry Potter book for the lucky winners.

The glorious weather enabled the society's members to set up tea tables on the playing fields outside the centre with a wonderful selection of home made cakes and plants to buy. Their presence added to the '˜village' feel of the show.

Among the visitors were Bognor's town mayor, Cllr Don Eldridge, and his family who went along to present the well-deserved prizes.
