An inquest last year found five residents died as a result of the lack of care they received at the home in Copthorne. The deaths of 14 other residents were also investigated but West Sussex coroner Penelope Schofield said there was insufficient evidence that a lack of care contributed to their deaths.

Publication of the serious case review into what happened at the home had been initially scheduled for April but it will now be published in the week beginning June 9.

The extension is necessary because of the complexity and depth of this review.

The families of residents whose deaths were examined at an inquest last year have been informed.
