Renowned male choir coming to town for first time

THE INTERNATIONALLY famous Treorchy Male Choir is coming to the Old Town in October, for a charity concert, and organisers are now looking for sponsors to help with the event.

The concert is being held at St Clement’s Church in aid of The Two Towers Trust, a charity set up to raise funds for the Old Town’s two mediaeval churches.

Treorchy Male Choir is based in Treorchy in the Rhondda Valley, Wales, and is one of the world’s best-known male voice choirs.

Kevin Boorman, chairman of the charity’s events committee, said: “We are very honoured indeed to get the Treorchy Male Choir to come to the Old Town. They have sung in South Africa, at Sydney Opera House, and have appeared on television.

“We believe this is the first time they have ever performed in Hastings.

“But we do need to raise money to cover their travel costs here from the Rhondda, and their overnight accommodation.

“So we are appealing to local businesses for help with these.

“Please contact us on Hastings 444483 if you are able to help, to discuss sponsorship packages.”
