TWO Cocker Spaniel puppies have helped to raise a whopping £620 for charity, just by looking cute.
Jarvis and Jo won over visitors to Philip Oakley’s studio, when the artist opened the doors of his studio at The Admiral Benbow, in London Road, St Leonards, to the public as part of the Coastal Currents arts festival.
The money, donated to St Michael’s Hospice, was raised over four days this month, as visitors donated far more generously than the £1 entrance fee thanks to the 10-month-old puppies posing at the entrance.
St Michael’s Hospice publicity and communications coordinator, Darran Penfold, said: “Philip Oakley did it all by himself, without any support from us, and we are really appreciative.
“For one person to raise that amount of money, that is very good.”
The dogs are no strangers to attention, as they have been regular visitors to the patients at St Michael’s Hospice, where they have always received a warm welcome.
