Pupils chill out at Guestival

Guestival 2012 took place at Guestling Bradshaw School recently as part of the infants Enterprise project.

Pupils designed and printed their own festival t-shirts which were sold to parents at the school Enterprise fair in March.

Pupils wore their t-shirts whilst performing to parents and families.

Kate Tugwell, from the school, said: “The sun shone as the audience chillaxed on rugs and cushions listening to songs and percussion.

“Everyone was then entertained by two of the parents who sang whilst children enjoyed side shows and stalls including face-painting and cakes.

“There was a raffle and free ice-lollies.

“Festival-goers left messages about this wonderful day in a special commemorative book. These included comments such as ‘Wow! What a great celebration!’ and ‘We had a groovy time.’

“Donations towards the various events raised £280 for Christian Aid which was amazing in one hour.

“Thanks must go to everyone who helped organise this festival for little folk, including staff, parents and Year 6 pupils. The team effort resulted in a very memorable day for everyone.”
