Council bosses are inviting the public to submit ideas and views on the design of the new visitor centre at Hastings Country Park.
Hastings Borough Council is working with Groundwork South and The Cave Co-operative to build the facility.
Councillor Dawn Poole, the council’s lead member for leisure and amenities, said: “We want to design and build a unique sustainable, straw bale visitor centre. The two organisations we will be working with will bring the ethos we need to deliver this environmentally driven project using recyclable materials and sustainable techniques in construction.
“We are at the beginning of this very exciting project and need people’s views and ideas on what they would like to see. Come and get involved at our pop-up shop in Priory Meadow Shopping Centre from September 17 to 20. See how straw bale buildings are built and how projects of this nature are designed and created. If you can’t visit the pop-up shop you can still get involved. On Sunday, September 21 the pop-up display will be at the country park visitor centre in Fairlight or you can visit www.cave.coop. Feedback and ideas will then inform our design plans which will be developed during October.”
