Public gets chance to learn vital life-saving skills at three sessions

A CHARITY is inviting the public to come along to an upcoming event where they can learn life-saving skills.

1066 Fundraisers is hosting three sessions on Saturday, May 7, at the new sports centre in the grounds of William Parker Sports College in Parkstone Road.

The first runs from 10am to noon, the second, from 1pm to 3pm and the final session starts at 4pm and ends at 6pm.

Professional life support workers from the Emergency Life Support Team, Conquest Hospital cardiac team and resuscitation department, Benenden and Maidstone Hospital, will be there.

People will learn what to do if a loved one has a heart attack or stroke and be trained in CPR, what to do in the event of choking and putting someone in a recovery position.

Students from Bexhill High will be re-enacting real-life situations so people can recognise the signs of a heart attack.

The cost of attending this event is a small donation and every penny will be passed on to local charities. Those wishing to attend need to register in advance. Call 01424 221557 or register online at
