Pro dining with high school students

CATERING students at the new Bexhill High Skills Centre in Down Road have created and completed their first formal dining experiences - after just three months of training.

The teenagers from years nine and 10 each organised a dinner party for their family and friends.

Principal Mike Conn, who attended the year 10 evening, said: “I would have been pleased to be served this meal in a commercial restaurant. The sheer professionalism of the students was amazing.”

Governors Kim West and Liz Berriman, who attended year nine, said: “The meal had been planned, prepared, cooked and served by the students, it was a brilliant meal and we thoroughly enjoyed it.”

Centre director Malcolm Lake said members of the public are welcome to pop into the centre, whether it be for coffee, full breakfast or dinner.
