Prince reveals all to Burgess Hill girl

PRINCE William has spoken about his childhood dream of becoming a policeman, his charity work and how he got his 'Harry Potter' scar in an exclusive interview with a young Burgess Hill cancer patient.

Alice Marples (10), who has received treatment at The Royal Marsden Hospital in London since she was four years old, interviewed the prince at Clarence House.

He said in the interview for CBBC's Newsround programme that he was following in his mother's footsteps by lending his support to plans for a new children's and teenage cancer centre at the hospital.

The prince, now 26 years old, undertook work experience at the children's unit in 2005 and was appointed president of the world-renowned cancer hospital in 2007, a position previously held by his mother, the late Diana, Princess of Wales, who opened the current children's unit at the hospital in 1993.

"For a very long time, my mother was involved with the Royal Marsden and she had a very close connection with them... So I wanted to ... follow in her footsteps, in that sense, and help," he told Alice.
