A care home has been praised for the care of its residents but has been told it needs to make improvements.
Hastings Court, on The Ridge, was inspected by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in September, with the report published last week.
It said: “The staff demonstrated a high standard of commitment and delivery of personalised care throughout the home.
“People had fulfilling lives because they were fully engaged in activities that were meaningful to them.”
Inspectors said, however, that the handling of medicines when people moved into Hastings Court did not ‘always ensure people’s safety’.
But the report added: “People told us they were happy living in the home and felt they were safe.”
Hastings Court provides accommodation and nursing care for up to 80 people, who have nursing needs, including poor mobility, diabetes, as well as those living in various stages of dementia.
