Popular market re-opens

RYE Country Market re-opens after its winter break on Friday March 8 and is looking for new stallholders.

The market will open every Friday from 10am - 11.30am at Rye Community Centre, Conduit Hill until December 13, except for the week before Easter, when it opens on Thursday March 28 and not Good Friday.

Market manager Jennifer Stapley said: “We provide home-made savouries, cakes and preserves: free-range eggs: home-grown vegetables, fruit, flowers and plants and hand-made greetings cards and crafts.

“Everything we sell on our stalls is made or grown within 10 miles of Rye, so it really is “locally” produced. Coffee, tea and biscuits are available.

“Do you enjoy cooking? Do you hold a current certificate in food safety, sometimes called the hygiene certificate, or be prepared to obtain one?

“If so, we are always on the look out for new cooks.

“You may not make a fortune, but you will get a great deal of satisfaction, so come along on a Friday morning, have a chat and see what is entailed.”
