East Bank flood defence consultation is open

THE public consultation into a potential £1million revamp of the East Bank’s flood defences in Littlehampton began last night (Thursday, December 8).

Residents were invited to give their views on enhancements which will improve the appearance of the new flood defences during a public session at the Arun Civic Centre, in Maltravers Road.

There will be another chance for people to see the plans and give their views today (Friday, December 9) at the Arun Ideas Shop, in Beach Road, from 10.30am to 3pm and tomorrow (Saturday, December 10), also at the Ideas Shop, from 10.30am-1pm.

The Environment Agency’s (EA) £13million flood defences project will begin next year.

The first pictures of Arun District Council’s proposed £1million enhancement scheme for Pier Road and Arun Parade were released last week.

People also have the opportunity to comment on the proposals via the Arun District Council website until Wednesday, December 14.
