On Thursday (June 17), the council’s lead member for resources Nick Bennett approved the renewal of a lease for council office space at Ocean House.

According to meeting papers,  the authority will reduce its office space from six to five floors, with a new two-year lease backdated to March this year.

The papers also notes that the building’s owner has informed the council they are considering redevelopment of the building into housing and is in the process of seeking permitted development rights to do so.

Cllr Bennett said: “I thank all of those involved in this. It has been a complicated and lengthy piece of work, which is finally coming to a conclusion to the satisfaction of everyone.”
