Arun offers help to those with homes at risk

HELP is available to residents at risk of losing their homes.

Arun District Council has arranged drop-in advice sessions in the face of an increase in the number of people turning to officers for help in the last year.

Councillor Roger Elkins, Arun’s cabinet member for housing, said: “Unfortunately the economic climate is such that more and more people are struggling to keep a roof over their heads. People might not necessarily think to turn to their local council, especially if they are not a council tenant, but there’s a lot of help we are able to give.

“Of the thousands of people our dedicated team help every year, we manage to keep 97 per cent of them in their homes or find them suitable alternative accommodation.”

The drop-in sessions will be held at Arun Civic Centre, Maltravers Road, Littlehampton, from 11am to 3pm on Mondays, 11am to 2pm on Tuesdays, 11am to 2pm on Thursdays, and 11am to 3pm on Fridays.

An officer is always available during emergencies. For more information, call 01903 737751 or email [email protected]
