A 32-year-old man from Broad Oak near Rye was also arrested under on suspicion of money laundering and possession of cannabis and a suspected controlled drug after the discovery of £6,000 cash and drugs at his property. He has been bailed by police until 9 October while further enquiries take place. There was no further action taken against another arrested man from Hastings.

Rother District Commander Chief Inspector Katy Woolford said: “Monday’s operation further instils our dedication to tackling drug cultivation and use, across both Hastings and Rother districts. Utilising resources in this kind of close cross district work gives us much more scope to hit criminals when they least expect it and I’d like to thank all officers involved as well as local communities who report suspicious activity to us.

“We have once again removed a large quantity of drugs from our streets and sent out a message to the criminal fraternity that it will not be tolerated.”
