Police reissue appeal to trace man in relation to Hastings street robbery

Detectives in Hastings are still trying to trace the second of two men they want to speak to concerning a street robbery in the town earlier this year.

Closed circuit television (CCTV) images of the man have come to light and officers hope someone may recognise him.

Together with another man, already arrested, he is believed to have robbed a 30-year-old man from St Leonards on Sunday, July 24.

As he walked home during the early hours the victim was attacked in St Helens Road, Hastings, and had his wallet and mobile phone stolen.

A debit card in the wallet was used to buy alcohol at Pevensey Service Station before it could be cancelled.

Detective Constable Ian Dearling, of Hastings CID, said: “We’d like to hear from anyone who recognises the man or who knows of his whereabouts.”
