Detective Inspector Neil Ralph said: “We are appealing to anyone in the area on Friday night who might have seen anyone acting suspiciously, heard the shots and seen any shortly after. We are reassured that we were able to find the firearm and that no-one was injured, however we are keen for the people in the local area to get in touch with information that might help us with our investigation.

“We are aware this could concern people living in the area, however we will be out patrolling and urge anyone who is concerned to get in touch.”
