Sussex Police is offering the chance for budding newshounds to present part of their 24-hour live broadcast on October 10.

The competition invites entrants to showcase their news presenting skills by sending in a two-minute clip.

They can interview anyone they like, a colleague, local celebrity or even their pet dog.

Eight winners will have the chance to present a broadcast streamed live from the Sussex Police website.

They will spend part of a shift with one of a range of different policing teams in the force.

The winners will also get to see what it is like behind the scenes in a major police force and could end up going on patrol with neighbourhood response officers, finding out about forensic examinations or going out with the dog unit. The closing date is Friday
August 15 with winners
announced on August 29.

Entrants must be aged over 16 and have a Sussex home
address. Those aged between 16 and 18 will be given a daytime shift.

The force covers one of the largest areas in England which presents continually evolving challenges in diverse and vibrant communities.

Specialist teams are responsible for the security of our ports along the coast and for Gatwick Airport: they work with their colleagues across Surrey, Kent and Hampshire as well as HM Coastguard to provide the most effective cross-border policing.
