Police appeal after two-car smash

TWO people were taken to hospital after a two-car crash in Upper Park Road yesterday (Thursday) evening.

A small red car was in collision with the back of a blue BMW, causing it to leave the road, just after 8.05pm.

Two men out of the five people inside the BMW were treated for minor injuries in hospital.

Police are appealing for witnesses and information about the red car which left the scene shortly after the accident.

A police spokesperson said: “The red car stopped briefly and two men got out and approached the BMW. However, they both then got back into their vehicle and left the scene.

“We would like to hear from those who were in this car, or from anyone who has knowledge as to their identity. The red vehicle will have sustained front end damage.

“Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101, quoting serial 1510 of March 7.”
