Fairlight End: Great news for local residents Chris and Robin Hutt! Fairlight End has won a Sussex Heritage Trust 2015 Award in the Landscape and Gardens category.

The judges said the garden is “A thoughtful and beautiful integration of the countryside and garden landscape with contemporary elements, such as steel borders, in an infinity style. Sculptural pieces complement the listed house and perform as plant supports. Old character trees add a timeless feel to the new plantings.”

A hand crafted slate plaque to be displayed at Fairlight End marks the Award.

Chris Hutt said “This Award, which we are proud to win, is really a tribute to all the people who have helped us to build up the garden in the 10 years we have been here.”

Pett WI: Don’t forget today’s meeting (Friday July 17). The speaker will be John Taylor with a History of Pett Level. The meeting starts at 2:30pm and visitors are welcome.

Church Services: On Sunday July 19 – Book of Common Prayer, Holy Communion, Richard Barron, at 8am at St Nicholas, Pett Level.

Village Choir: On Monday July 20 the Village Choir will meet again at 7:30pm in Pett Methodist Chapel.

Pett Older People’s Project: On Tuesday July 21 POPP will feature Keith Osborne with Music for Health. The session runs from 10:30am to 2pm and will include a two-course lunch for just £5.

Pett Parish Council: Also on Tuesday July 21 Pett Parish Council will meet in Pett Village Hall at 7:30pm.

Pett Flower Show: On Saturday July 25 the Flower Show and Fayre will be held in the Recreation Field, Pett, starting at 2pm. As well as the marquee with all the fantastic exhibits, there will be the usual attractions: a variety of stalls, fun for the children, a Pimms bar as well as ice creams, tea tent, Bar-B-Q, not forgetting the Fun Dog Show and so much more.

All entry forms and fees must be sent in not later that 8pm on Wednesday July 22 and all exhibits must be brought to the marquee on the day, between 8:30 and 10:15am.
