This week we lead with the news that Hastings is to get more than £24 million of regeneration cash to help boost the local economy.

The announcement was made by Communities Secretary Robert Jenrick.

In other news in today’s Observer, a four-year-old boy has been praised for his bravery after alerting his dad to a fire in their garden shed, prevented the fire from spreading to neighbouring homes.

Concerns about plans for a cycle path to run alongside the footpath in Alexandra Park have also been raised by a Hastings resident.

Hastings and St Leonards residents have also reacted to the news that one of the town’s pharmacies will lose its NHS licence to dispense prescriptions.
