This week we lead on the story of three teenagers, who were left seriously injured after being attacked by a gang of youths.

The victims’ families have called for a thorough police investigation.

In other news, a new outdoor gallery in Hastings Old Town celebrating the area’s shop and bar owners has been launched.

And in a separate story, tributes have been paid to ex-councillor and deputy mayor, Jane Amstad, who died on Saturday (May 29), aged 87.

Two Hastings men and one Winchelsea man also have been convicted in connection with a house fire which killed a mother and her young son in Eastbourne. The full story is in today’s Observer.

Our two-page picture spread this week shows Hastings at its picturesque best as people enjoyed the sunny bank holiday weekend.
