This week lockdown rules were eased, allowing people to sit inside pubs and restaurants, and meet in groups of 30 people outdoors.

Our special two-page picture-led feature in today’s paper includes local reaction, as the easing of restrictions were welcomed by Hastings’ businesses and its tourism industry.

In other news, a boy with spina bifida has raised money for a homeless charity in Hastings by walking 100 laps of the corridors at his primary school.

And in a separate story, a man has been jailed for sexual offences against young girls in St Leonards.

This week, campaigners fighting against proposed ‘cuts’ at Rye College have also written to Sir Paul McCartney for his support, as an online petition has attracted more than 1,500 signatures.
