Snow warning in East Sussex as residents wake up to light dusting

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning of heavy rain and snow for parts of East Sussex.

Many areas of the county woke up to a slight dusting on Friday morning (December 4), while the weather warning remains in place for north eastern parts of East Sussex until 10am.

The Met Office said heavy rain and snow may lead to tricky travel conditions due to surface water and slush.

They advised people to allow for extra time to make their journeys.

Snow may be ‘briefly heavy in places', according to the Met Office, which could reduce visibility on the roads and lead to slippery surfaces.

Heavy overnight rain has already caused flooding on the A27 at Lewes and in nearby areas.

Residents living in Hastings and Battle reported waking up to a light dusting of snow on Friday morning.
