School near Hastings confirms Covid-19 case

Buckswood School, in Rye Road, Hastings, confirmed on Friday (October 2) the person tested positive ten days ago. They have been in isolation since then.

Michael Shaw, academic principal, said seven students who had been in close contact with the confirmed case were identified through the school’s own track and trace app.

The app also identified one member of staff who was required to isolate.

Mr Shaw said all eight close contacts (seven students and one member of staff) have been isolated for ten days and have not shown any symptoms.

The school has not recorded any more positive case during that time, Mr Shaw added.
