New plan to improve the experience for pedestrians in Hastings

Campaigners from Hastings Greenway Group and Transition Town Hastings and St Leonards have come together to create a local Living Streets group to improve the pedestrian experience in Hastings.

Julia Hilton, of Hastings Greenway Group said: “Anyone who is concerned about speeding cars, lack of zebra crossings or just want to make our streets more accessible and welcoming for everyone so we all feel encouraged to walk more is welcome to join.

Living Streets is the UK charity for everyday walking with an ambition is to get people of all generations to enjoy the benefits that this simple act brings.

“Their mission is to achieve a better walking environment and inspire people to walk more.

The first meeting will be held on January 25 at 10.30 - 12.30 pm at the Salvation Army Hall, St Andrews Square Hastings TN34 1SP.
