Magistrates Court results for the Hastings and Rother area

February 17:

Michelle Birnie, 49, of Deepdene Gardens, Hastings pleaded guilty to driving a Ford Focus on Beaconsfield Road, Hastings, on November 21, while more than twice over the drink drive limit. She gave a breath alcohol reading of 89 microgrammes. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes. She also pleaded guilty to driving with no licence or insurance at Hastings on the same date. The court made a community order with a requirement of 100 hours of unpaid work and banned her from driving for 22 months.

Ryan Swan, 21, of London Road, St Leonards, pleaded guilty to driving a Vauxhall vehicle on White Rock Road, Hastings, on April 27, last year, with cocaine in his blood stream. He also pleaded guilty to driving with the controlled drug Benzoylecgonine in his blood stream, at Hastings on the same date. He was fined £120 and banned from driving for one year.

Lynn Hallam, 72, of High Street, Northallerton, Yorkshire, pleaded guilty to being in charge of a vehicle at Dane Road, St Leonards, on November 11, while over the drink drive limit. She gave a breath alcohol reading of 47 microgrammes. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes. She was fined £85 and banned from driving for three months.

Aimilios Ioannou, 31, of Barn Field, Terrace, Bexhill, indicated a plea of guilty to being in possession of cocaine at Bexhill on December 16. He was fined £50.

Roy Potter, 50, of Conqueror Road, St Leonards, indicated a plea of guilty to being the owner of an American bulldog that was dangeously out of control at Edinburgh Road, Hastings, on August 15, and injured another person. The court made an order that unless the dog be kept under proper control, fitted with a muzzle and securely held on a lead, it must be destroyed. He was ordered to payb £300 in compensation.

February 24:

Maclaren Combes, 21, of Faygate Close, Bexhill, pleaded guilty to driving a Ford vehicle on the A259 Marsh Road, at Hooe, on June 11, last year, without due care and attention. He also pleaded guilty to driving a vehicle on Little Common Road, Bexhill, on the same date with cannabis in his blood stream, and to being in possession of cannabis. He was fined £200 and banned from driving for one year.

Reece Ripley, 20, of Her Majesty’s Prison Lewes, pleaded guilty to driving a Volkswagen vehicle on Barrack Road, Bexhill, on May 30, last year, with cannabis in his blood stream. He also pleaded guilty to driving with no insurance at Bexhill on the same date. He was fined £120 and banned from driving for one year.
