Since 2012, The Eggtooth Project has worked primarily with young people and families to tackle academic underachievement, mental health issues and lack of opportunity in Hastings and St Leonards.

Their latest venture is The Nest, a mental health, well-being and community hub based in the historic Hastings Old Town Hall.

The downstairs will be transformed into the town’s first alcohol-free bar, cafe and creative event space, hosting the best that Hastings has to offer in live music, spoken word, podcasts, movie nights and visual arts.

The upper floor, however, is in need of community support. Eggtooth has launched a Crowdfunder campaign, raising funds to renovate the upstairs space into a bespoke mental health and well-being centre. Donations will be used to create vital facilities to support the local community, including a group therapy room, one-to-one therapy pod and dedicated art therapy space.

“The Egg”, Eggtooth’s existing mental health service, offers the widest range of therapies and therapeutic creative activities locally available, with fully funded and subsidised places available to those on low or no income. This new, well-equipped space looks to be the epicentre of mental health support in Hastings.
