A Hastings boy who launched his own newspaper during lockdown was amazed to get a letter from New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern praising his work.

Roscoe Page-Clarke, aged eight, produced the colourful newspaper - The Ultimate News, from his St Helens Park Road home and his grandmother, who, lives in New Zealand, passed it on to the PM.

Roscoe’s paper included a page contributed by his cousins in New Zealand.

Jacinda Ardern, said in the letter: “I really enjoyed reading your newspaper - it looks like a lot of time and effort went into making it and I appreciate being sent a copy. I loved how your cousins had a page in the newspaper and provided an update on New Zealand.”

Roscoe’s dad Nathan said: “We were all quite amazed.”
