Fears for North Street retailer as Paperchase goes into administration — what about the Chichester store?

North Street could be set to lose another familiar shopfront as Paperchase goes into administration this morning (Tuesday, January 31).

The high street chain had hired advisers from Begbies Traynor Group and PwC earlier this month. The companies will look at 100 of its nationwide stores including those in Sussex.

The news has raised fears for North Street in Chichester which could be set to lose another unit.

According to the BBC, Begbies Traynor said in a statement today: "Unfortunately, despite a comprehensive sales process, no viable offers were received for the company, or its business and assets.

"However, there has been significant interest in the Paperchase brand and attendant intellectual property."
