Sussex Police, Rother District Council beach patrol, the RNLI, HM Coastguard and the ambulance service will all be on hand to reunite lost children, administer first aid and keep a watchful eye on the water.

Visitors have been asked to avoid the area once the car parks are full, to avoid the overcrowding seen earlier in the summer.

Rother District Council advised visitors to keep safe by keeping children safe by using free wrist bands available from the coastal office, by swimming between the flags and observe safety signs, by being careful when using BBQ’s and consuming alcohol, to not leave rubbish on the beach, and to not park on grass verges or across peoples driveways.

A spokesman added: “Parking sensibly and not travelling to Camber once the car parks are full will help keep the roads clear so that emergency service vehicles can access the beach and the village.

“At high tide on a busy day at Camber it is very difficult to social distance – if the car parks are full please consider going somewhere else.”
