An independent group of volunteers in Eastbourne is becoming part of a larger Sussex charity.

After more than 40 years of helping disabled people, Eastbourne Access Group will become part of Possability People. Possability People will take over the administration and on-going campaigns of the Access Group in Eastbourne and surrounding areas, whilst upholding the vision and principles encompassed in the access group's charter of 2021.

A Possability People spokesperson said: “Eastbourne Access Group have a long and successful history of making positive changes for disabled people in Eastbourne. They have a strong and well respected voice which always brings the needs of disabled people into sharp focus. We hope that by providing support under the Possability People umbrella, we can amplify that voice so more people and organisations are aware of how crucial it is to involve and include disabled people in planning and delivering services which are truly accessible.”
