Dogs for adoption in Sussex: These pups at Clymping Dog Sanctuary are looking for loving homes

Lenny is a 'firm favourite' with sanctuary staff. He is sadly overlooked due to his breed and age, but loves to be with people. A spokesperson for Clymping Dog Sanctuary said: "Lenny is another heartbreaker at our kennels and sadly another returner to us. He was rehomed but due to a serious illness the owner can no longer care for Lenny." He needs to be the only pet in his home and is hoping to find his 'forever sofa' soon. Due to his breed, he can be strong on the lead so will need an owner who is able to walk him.

Sadie’s story is a sad one. She originally arrived at the sanctuary after a very bad start in life and turned up with broken ribs from being kicked. The sanctuary was 'delighted' when Sadie was rehomed, but sadly, after a few years, she is back in kennels. Sadie is a really strong girl with a high prey drive and her owner couldn’t walk her anymore. Sadie is loved by all of the sanctuary team, she loves to play and is very sprightly for a nine-year-old. However, due to her prey drive she must wear a muzzle when being walked and this often puts people off. Sadie would love to find a family where she can be the only pet and find that forever sofa.

Tandy is a lovely boy with typical Beagle characteristics: he is strong on the lead, cheeky and sometimes lacks recall. However, the sanctuary said if you love Beagles you will fall in love with Tandy! He can be rehomed with other pets and children over seven.

Shadow is another young pup looking for a forever sofa. She is great with other dogs, can be rehomed with children over the age of ten. She is a strong girl on lead but with the right training would make an amazing family dog for the right person.
