Meet Ava – a bright, young lurcher at Dogs Trust Shoreham who is looking fora new home.

The spritely two-year-old loves to learn and enjoys any situation where she gets to express her energy or keep her busy brain stimulated.

She especially enjoys participating in fun training, solving food-enrichment puzzles, munching on a chew,or playing with her toys.

Staff at Dogs Trust Shoreham said they all love her for being a big goofball with a super-smart brain.

Her perfect match would be with a family who can meet her energy levels and who lead an active lifestyle.

Additionally, any of her people pals must be over the age of 16. She would love a family who can provide her with plenty of love and dedicate lots of time to supporting her with some additional training.

Just as cheeky as she is endearing, Ava will need a garden of her own at home, so that she can burn off some steam and enjoy zooming about, while playing games with her family.

Ava is looking to live as the only pet in her new home and would need secluded walking locations, with low dog populations. She is a fantastic traveller in the car, and is happy to hop in and go on adventures.

While Ava has tonnes of energy, she also has a sensitive side. Her fun-loving and cheeky ways will shine through the more time you spend getting to know her, and she will need her new family to meet her on multiple occasions to begin building up a bond, before she packs her bags for good.

Dogs Trust Shoreham is on Brighton Road, BN43 5LT. If you live within a two-hour drive to the centre, and would like to find out more about Ava, visit dogstrust.org.uk/rehoming, or call 0303 003 0000.

Another dog at Dogs Trust Shoreham is looking for a home and is hoping for a ‘second chance’ after his owner sadly passed away. Barney, a thirteen-year-old poodle cross, is the rescue centre’s oldest dog.

Barney is very people oriented and struggles with being left alone, which means he has become a permanent resident in the centre’s office.

Anyone who has room in their home and heart for an ‘old age pooch’ like Barney can find out more here: https://www.sussexexpress.co.uk/news/people/dogs-trust-shorehams-oldest-resident-hoping-for-a-second-chance-3878601
