Angmering woman saddles up for epic 960-mile ride

A GRANDMOTHER-OF-NINE from Angmering will be part of a duo cycling more than 960 miles from Land’s End to John O’Groats for charity.

Susie de Las Casas, 61, of Ham Manor, will be tackling the mammoth trail with friend Karen Holman, 46, of Felpham.

The pair, who both train at Virgin Active, in Rustington and are members of the Ham Manor Golf Club, aim to complete their adventure in two weeks, cycling around 75 miles everyday.

Susie, who is no stranger to long-distance cycling, having already completed two Brighton to Paris treks, with a third planned in August, said: “I have always wanted to do it.

“When I was talking about it in the gym, my friend Karen said that she also wanted to do it. It’s going to be a tough challenge but I’m pretty confident that we can pull it off.”

The pair hope to raise about £4,000 for their two charities, the Alzheimer’s Society and Myeloma UK.
