Cast members from the Cinderella pantomime pushed the button to light up Hastings town centre for Christmas last week.
Hundreds of people packed into Priory Meadow to cheer the big switch-on which also signalled a fantastic fireworks display over the town.
The fun started at 5pm with an exciting build-up featuring the Arrow FM Roadshow and performances by young singers.
The waiting crowd also enjoyed competitions and give-aways.
The lights going on also herald late-night Thursday shopping in the run-up to Christmas and the return of popular children’s craft workshops which will be taking place at Priory Meadow on Thursdays December 3, 10 and 17 from 4pm - 8pm.
Children can post a letter to Father Christmas in a post box situated next to Santa’s Grotto in Priory Meadow.
Father Christmas arrived at Priory Meadow on Thursday November 26 and will be taking up residence in his grotto from Saturday 28.
Another highlight this year see the return of the popular ice skating rink to Priory Meadow. It is now open until January 5, including on Boxing Day.
