William Penn’s project for safer roads outside their school

The children at William Penn have been busy thinking about safer road use outside their school.

As part of our focus on safe travel, the School Council ran a competition for pupils to design a poster advertising safer/more considerate road use.

Mrs Amanda Jupp, leader of the County Council, judged the competition in July and the winning posters from each year group have now been made into plastic posters and have been displayed in the community.

This community-focused initiative has been used in nearby locations and has shown success in raising awareness of traffic behaviours.

This project has contributed to our work on Travel Mark Level 3. Please look out for our signs!
