We want more street patrols in Hastings

Why must anti-social behaviour win so often? First, our town centre toilets were demolished due to anti-social behaviour. Now the town centre benches are taken away for the same reason. If there was to be a visible police presence in the town then maybe the toilets and benches would have remained.

There used to be a policeman known to the public as he walked through Priory Meadow and the town centre, but of course, with his retirement it was thought not to employ another policeman to replace him, doubtless a cost-cutting measure. How much did it cost to pull down the toilets?

We have police cars, with two occupants, driving through Alexandra Park. Would it not seem beneficial to the town and cost effective to have a police presence in the town to counter and rid us of the anti-social behaviour rather than allow these people to win and thus lose town centre facilities be they toilets or benches.

The government promises wardens to patrol cities and towns - when?
