We need a bypass

HAVE we become so blasÃ© about the carnage on the A259 that a fatality at the Hooe junction on the October 11 was reported in a cursory passage somewhere on the middle pages of the Bexhill Observer?

A person was killed, others hospitalised and many people inconvenienced by a total road closure for more than five hours.

I was relieved to see that the two recent accidents on the A259 were reported on your front page.

It is only this type of publicity that will hopefully force our politicians out of their complacency and give this besieged town of ours a proper bypass (not the spurious “Link Road”) that they have been promising us for the last 40 years.
