Tired of excuses

Is Paul Dendle trying to mislead the people of east Arun, yet again?

On his Facebook site he states: “Who would be a councillor . . . old people protesting because we are trying to build a new £13m swimming centre (the old will do thank you very much even if it has to close in 10 years because it’s too expensive) . . . at same time trying to start a new business and building a new house, very tired!!”

No, Mr Dendle, the old people really, really welcome a new swimming pool, always have done. We would just like it built on the seafront, like the existing one.

We are really sorry that you are so tired, with all your personal tribulations, whilst trying to find time to be a ward councillor, a district councillor and a cabinet member, shame you haven’t got enough time to really know what the old people of Littlehampton and surrounding areas are saying.

Maybe you have signed some sort of Faustian pact and will never get old, but let’s hope when you do, you can work out what people really, really want.
