There is no room

I STRONGLY oppose the planning application by Gleeson for 600 homes at Courtwick, on prime agricultural land, to create what can only be described as a carbuncle on the the neck of Littlehampton, spoiling splendid views at the entrance to the Arun valley and scarring the area as a tourist attraction and wildlife habitat.

Inadequate infrastructure will lead to yet further congestion of highways and even more dire parking. New Courtwick and Courtwick Lanes are already rat –runs, to avoid the Wick roundabout.

Poorly planned socio-economic facilities have already led to lack of employment and redundant industrial units, causing local inhabitants to travel far afield to find skilled work.

Schools are crammed and medical and dental practices struggle to provide even basic needs.

It would appear too much to ask for common sense development of brownfield sites and put the future welfare of Littlehampton ahead of the greed of developers, in what already appears to be a fait accompli.
