Shop not needed
I was somewhat relieved to read that the proposed retail unit on the Chandlers site in Rustington has been shelved (Gazette, July 11). Well done to Arun planning officers.
I am surprised that some councillors led by the former chairman of Rustington Parish Council, actually support this proposal – after all, there are enough empty shops and charity shops in The Street.
Not only do we have to put up with the monstrosity of the new Sainsbury’s, but adding more retail outlets is ludicrous.
Think of something more beneficial to our residents.
