Risk paid off for a quality performance
TO put on a performance of a major choral work, like Verdi’s Requiem as Battle Choral Society did at Christ Church St Leonards last Saturday, is a considerable risk.
The risks are of course financial, with a huge cost of a large number of professional musicians, and in finding a good audience.
I thought this paid off handsomely in terms of a high quality performance and a full house.
I hope the society will continue to thrive and to gain sufficient support from local sponsors and media to give us all such pleasure and enjoyment in the future.
