Following some research on the different landmarks the children discovered many had something in common - Lorne McKean!

She agreed to visit the school and the children were so excited to be guided around her sculptures by the lady herself and to find out how they were created.

She then spent time with the children in class looking at their inspired works of art.

Mrs E Woodlock, Year 4 Class Teacher said: “Lorne was inspirational and the children were so excited to meet her and ask her about the landmarks that they had studied so carefully this term.

“Her talks taught them so much about the journey that artists take when creating a masterpiece and made them appreciate the art even more. It is a memory that will stay with them for years to come.”
